I Hope They Call Me on a Mission....

Some very exciting news arrived in the mail today... My Uncle Caleb received his mission call the serve our Heavenly Father in the Santa Maria Brazil Mission. He will enter the MTC in Sao Paulo Brazil on Aug 12th. I am so excited for him. He will get to learn Portuguese.

Here is some information on the Santa Maria Mission courtesy of www.mission.net

The Santa Maria Mission covers approximately the interior half of the state of
Rio Grande do Sul, the most Southern state of Brazil. Temperatures range from C° -5 to C° 45 (F° 27 to F° 113). Although it can be somewhat cold and somewhat hot, neither of the two extremes are unbearable, and with a little bit of planning, the Lords work can continue unhindered.

The people are referred to as "Gaúchos", a name which sets them apart as natives of the Rio Grande do Sul. The Gaúchos are rich in history and stories, and are comparable to the old West cowboys. The Gaúchos are warm and receptive people, open to better things in their lives as they toil daily for their bread (as do we all).

Lunches are provided by members of the individual wards or branches for the missionaries, and any other meals or snacks are the responsibility of each individual missionary. The missionaries receive a bi-weekly allowance which they are expected to use frugally and with consideration and care before spending.

All traveling in the mission is done by bus. Each missionary is expected to learn to love his companion, his zone, his area, and the people. It is expected that the Book of Mormon has been read at least once by each missionary before he or she arrives in the field.

4 Months Old

I turned 4 months old this week. Mommy can't believe that I am that old. Here are some pictures of me on my 4 month b-day.

I have discovered that sitting is much better than lying around, so here I am in my Bumbo out side soaking up the nice spring air. I am also losing my sock it seems.

I have been working on my 6 pack these last few weeks. I think that it will be easier to sit straight up from a lying down position than from rolling over and pushing up with my arms.

Here is another angle of me performing my crunches.

Pretty handsome!

I love to stick my tongue out and blow bubbles and raspberries. I am usually covered in drool.

Here I am sitting in my glider. Mommy has taken a picture of me every month in this chair to mark how big I am getting.

I love to strike a pose.

Daddy and Mommy got me this Jumper so that I could work out all of my wiggles and because I love to stand. It is pretty cool. I just haven't figured out how to spin in it yet, so they have to come and move me around to all of the fun toys when I get bored.

This is one of my favorite places in the whole house. I love to lie on bath mats. I can be crying like crazy and all mom and dad have to do is put me on the mat and I am happy as can be. They aren't sure what it is about the mats, but I just love them! I am also working on rolling from my back to my tummy. I just can't figure out what to do with my arms and legs on the underside. I just have to keep practicing and I will figure it out one of these days.
